I’m currently about half way through the book and it just gets better and better the deeper I get into it. It is a wonderful takedown of the myth that the United States was founded as a “Christian Nation” or “on Judeo-Christian Principles.” It’s a case that’s been built up by years of very carefully mining quotes from the writings of the founding fathers and it’s a case that disintegrates once those quotations are put back in their context. (The founders were authors who very much showed their work and the decision making process that went into drafting those historic documents, and it’s nice that someone went looking.)
